What are SkinMedica® Peels?

SkinMedica® peels are superficial chemical peels that exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. These treatments are a non-invasive approach to addressing a range of cosmetic concerns, including signs of aging and various forms of skin damage. We offer several SkinMedica® peels, and each peel is specifically designed to address certain signs of aging and cosmetic concerns. SkinMedica® peels can help you address the following features:

  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Rough or uneven skin texture
  • Dark spots and other discoloration
  • Acne scars
  • Dull or uneven skin tone

How Much Do SkinMedica® Peels Cost?

Every patient’s goals for their ideal look varies, and the cost of your treatment will vary depending on the extent of treatment needed to fulfill these goals. Our skincare specialist will discuss your goals and desires to determine the cost of your procedure at your initial consultation. For your convenience, we offer easy financing through Prosper Healthcare Lending and CareCredit® in addition to accepting cash, money orders, most credit cards, and checks.

What is the Illuminize Peel®?

The Illuminize Peel® is a chemical peel treatment that is safe for all skin types. This particular peel focuses on brightening the skin to produce vibrancy and radiance in the face. With the Illuminize Peel®, patients can achieve brighter skin after just one treatment. This treatment can also help improve your complexion.

What is the Vitalize Peel®?

The Vitalize Peel® is a versatile chemical peel treatment with minimal downtime. It can be used to address lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, and poor skin tone or texture. Just like the Illuminize Peel®, it is an ideal treatment for all skin types. Although patients may notice results after their first treatment, we typically recommend a series of three to six treatments in order to achieve optimal results.

What is the Rejuvenize Peel™?

The Rejuvenize Peel™ is designed to rejuvenate the skin, minimizing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It can also be used to address acne scarring as well as uneven skin tone and texture. We usually recommend a series of three to six treatments for optimal results.

What is the Chemical Peel Treatment Like?

Chemical peel treatments usually take about a half an hour in total. Before the treatment, we will cleanse the skin to prepare it for the application of the peel. Then, we will apply the peel to the skin. This process may vary slightly depending on the peel, as each peel has different ingredients and varying strengths. Some peels may cause a tingling sensation, while others may be completely comfortable.

Is There Any Downtime After SkinMedica® Peels?

After a chemical peel, patients may notice redness or sensitivity in the skin for a few days, much like a sunburn. As the skin begins to heal, it may peel or flake off. This is a common effect of treatment, although the extent of peeling will vary by patient. It is important to protect the skin with sunscreen immediately after a chemical peel, as it will be highly sensitive to sunlight. You will also want to use moisturizing products. Besides these minor side effects, there is not much downtime after chemical peel treatments. Patients are typically able to return to normal activities within a day of treatment, but may have peeling.
