How Does Potenza™ Work?
Potenza™ is designed around the proven efficacy of microneedling. With this technique, small needles are used to puncture the skin’s surface. These incredibly small injuries cause no permanent damage, they just create a temporary wound to trigger a healing response from the body. In reaction, the body will produce collagen to heal the area, rejuvenating the skin in the process. Since the injuries are small, the healing process happens very quickly, and leaves the body with a surplus of collagen to strengthen and rejuvenate the surrounding areas of the skin.
Potenza™ is unique in that it also combines multiple types of radiofrequency energy with the microneedling process. During treatment, the Potenza™ device will deliver radiofrequency energy beneath the skin’s surface. In addition to the benefits of the microneedling process, this energy triggers immediate skin tightening and enhances collagen-stimulating benefits. This is why Potenza™ is capable of delivering more significant results in fewer treatments.
What is the Potenza™ Treatment Like?
The Potenza™ treatment is much like any other microneedling treatment. First, a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin to minimize any discomfort during the treatment process. Then, the Potenza™ handpiece will be used to create tiny punctures in the skin’s surface via microneedles. While these microneedles are beneath the skin’s surface, the handpiece will emit a range of radiofrequency energies. This process triggers immediate skin tightening while also enhancing the collagen stimulating effects of treatment. Then, the handpiece is moved to a new location in the skin and the process is repeated. Once the entire treatment area has been addressed, the procedure is complete.
What Can I Expect After My Potenza™ Treatment?
With the combination of multiple radiofrequency energy types, Potenza™ offers a faster recovery process and fewer side effects than traditional microneedling. You can expect some mild redness or sensitivity in the skin for a few days, although these side effects heal quickly and should not limit your ability to follow your usual skincare routine and lifestyle. Within one to two weeks, your skin will be completely healed, and some of your results will already be visible.
However, the bulk of your results will continue to develop in the weeks following treatment and may not be fully visible for as long as three months. Collagen production is a gradual process, so you can expect continued improvements in skin health over the months following your treatment. These improvements may continue to develop for as long as six months following treatment, and may be accelerated with additional treatments.
