Male Breast Implants
Dr. Beam offers male breast implants for patients in the Glastonbury, New Britain, Hartford and surrounding areas of Connecticut.
There are various reasons why a man would be interested in breast augmentation surgery. Male breast augmentation surgery can be an essential component in complete gender reassignment, helping a man’s outward appearance to resemble more closely his internal gender identity. For some men, on the other hand, male breast augmentation can be a tool for helping them to achieve certain career aspirations. Men in the Glastonbury, New Haven, and Hartford areas interested in breast augmentation surgery have the extra advantage of convenient access to a top plastic surgeon.
Harold E. Beam, M.D. is a skilled plastic surgeon with the medical expertise and highly attuned sense of aesthetics necessary to achieve consistently beautiful results with breast enhancement procedures. Since one man's reasons for undergoing breast augmentation surgery may be different from the next, and because each man is a unique individual, Dr. Beam fully customizes the breast augmentation procedure for each patient.
How is Male Breast Implant Surgery Performed?
The surgical procedure for male breast augmentation is nearly identical to female breast augmentation. The details of breast augmentation surgery depend entirely upon the individual patient and Dr. Beam will tailor the procedure for each individual, depending on his anatomy, skin elasticity, and aesthetic goals. The breast implants can be inserted through any of the typical incision sites—Dr. Beam typically favors on of three options:
- Periareolar (an incision made at the outer edge of the areola)
- Transaxillary (an incision made through the armpit)
- Inframammary (an incision made beneath the breast).
After making the incision, Dr. Beam inserts the saline or silicone implants. He then adjusts the implants to ensure both breasts are symmetrical and natural-looking. Finally, he closes the incisions and bandages the area.
How Much Does Male Breast Implant Surgery Cost?
The cost for male breast implant surgery is dependent on the size of the implants. Generally, insurance will not cover the cost of breast implant surgery. At your initial consultation, Dr. Beam can discuss all of your pricing and financing options.
